COMMUNITY PROJECTS
Hood Canal Improvement Club invests in community projects that strengthen and support the Hood Canal area. From keeping the pantry stocked at Hood Canal School to offering emergency preparedness programs like Kindness Keepers, we are dedicated to helping our neighbors and improving the well-being of our community.

The pantry at Hood Canal School District sends out bags of food weekly to district families via a "Grab and Go" format. They prepare “basic need” bags that contain a meal and a few other items based on what they have in stock. The food bank has no formal funding and is servicing about 35+ families week to week with this bag of food. The support they get from the community is what keeps the program alive and keeps food insecurity at bay.
Thanks to Chris Eakes and Operation Scrooge 2025 telethon, HCIC is prepared to take a lead in this effort ALL YEAR LONG. You may drop off non-perishable items to McReavy House's porch or at any Member meeting at the Union Fire Hall. Let's keep the pantry full beyond the holidays and make a difference together!

Emergency Preparedness
Kindness Keepers
Emergency preparedness is important to HCIC because strong communities start with neighbors looking out for one another. Our Kindness Keepers program is designed to bring people together through neighborhood watches, thoughtful emergency planning, local support networks, senior assistance, shared maps, and practical resources. By staying informed and connected, we can better care for each other before, during, and after emergencies. Stay tuned for more information as we continue building a safer, more prepared Hood Canal community. Contact us for more information, volunteerism, or to join our Emergency Preparedness Committee!
