Deep in the forests of the Pacific Northwest, stories of Bigfoot—also known as Sasquatch—have been shared for generations. The name Sasquatch comes from Sasq’ets, a word from the Halq’emeylem language spoken by First Nations peoples of southwestern British Columbia, reflecting the deep cultural roots of these legends.
Often described as a towering, hair-covered figure with humanlike movement and oversized footprints, Bigfoot has become an enduring symbol of our region’s wild places. While sightings are rare, tales of strange sounds, powerful smells, and fleeting encounters continue to spark curiosity and conversation.
