Mason County Sheriff Ryan Spurling is the 41st elected sheriff in the history of the Mason County Sheriff’s Office, an agency that has served the community since 1854. A long‑time Mason County resident, he brings deep local roots, decades of service, and a strong commitment to community partnership.

Sheriff Spurling’s background reflects a blend of military service, law enforcement experience, and community involvement:
Local community involvement — He volunteers as a coach, teaches martial arts, and participates in community groups and church activities.
Military service — He served in the U.S. Marine Corps (1984–1988) and the U.S. Army Reserves (1988–2005), including activation during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
