About the event
Originally from Boston, Harley Lever is now a local nature photographer and real estate agent who lives on Lilliwaup Bay with his lovely wife, Rosalynn, and his not-so-lovely cat, Richard. When he is not taking photos of Hood Canal's stunning auroras and moon-lit skies, he enjoys tending to his beehives, oyster garden, and fishing on our beautiful fjord. Harley was inspired to launch the Hood Canal Dark Sky Project (Available Group on Facebook) after spending many nights photographing dark skies in the deserts of America's southwest. The untouched beauty of the Olympic Peninsula helped him conclude that we have an opportunity to create Washington's first Dark Sky Preserve right here on the Olympic Peninsula. Today his goal is to help educate the Hood Canal community to use light thoughtfully while preserving our ability to see the beauty that floats above us every night. We can do both!
