Hood Canal Improvement Club
Community Connection Since 1928

Welcome to HCIC!

Hood Canal Improvement Club (HCIC), based in Union, Washington, is a civic and social organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing the natural beauty, history, and community spirit of the Hood Canal region. We are proud stewards of the Dalby Waterwheel, a historic landmark in Union that reflects the area’s rich heritage.

HCIC is led by a volunteer Board of Directors committed to serving our members and the broader community. We coordinate a wide range of activities, including an annual speaker series, community improvement projects, emergency preparedness initiatives, waterwheel restoration, local picnics, social gatherings, and special events. Above all, we strive to foster connection, support, and stewardship—working together to strengthen our community and preserve what makes the Hood Canal so special.

The Club is open to all; however, we do request that you show your commitment by becoming a member. If you are not a member you are not able to vote on important recommendations and initiatives the Board of Directors recommend.

Membership dues are $25 per individual. Your dues contribution allows us to host more events, provide fun activities/speaker series, raise community awareness and cover administrative costs to keep us operational.

*We use Zeffy a non-profit merchant services organization. Upon paying your dues electronically through their website you will notice an increase to your $25 payment. This is considered optional. If you do not want to add their suggested donation/fee please select "other" on the drop down menu.
